The status quo for cancer survivors in Indiana has changed with the inception of
Karuna Precision Wellness Center.
Very few healthcare centers across the United States provide survivorship programs for cancer survivors, despite the overwhelming need. In 2006, the Institute of Medicine issued a report recommending that every cancer patient receive an individualized survivorship care plan that includes guidelines for monitoring and maintaining their health. The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer also mandates survivorship programs for accreditation. Yet, few survivors receive true follow-up care.
Over 40% of cancer survivors suffer from more than one chronic health condition. Without a plan or recommendations for optimizing health and wellness after cancer, many survivors feel lost. Karuna Precision helps cancer survivors with the support and resources they need to live fuller, healthier lives after cancer.
