Every client at Karuna Precision Wellness Center currently receives a complimentary comprehensive assessment. During your assessment, we will be able to identify your capabilities, your current ability level, your emotional and cognitive needs, your physical needs, and your nutritional needs. Our staff will create a customized plan driven by what you seek to help you reach your goals.
Currently, Karuna Precision is located at the Indianapolis Healthplex with plans to expand to Evansville, IN in late 2020. If you are in need of our services outside of these service areas, most of our program is available online through telehealth visits.
Your first visit is free and will be conducted in-person or online. If done in-person, it will include a comprehensive assessment that involves exercise and/or treatment. Therefore, it is best to wear comfortable/loose-fitting clothing or workout clothes and shoes.
Karuna Precision Wellness Center understands the symptoms and side effects related to cancer treatment such as fatigue, decreased range of motion, loss of balance, decreased strength and endurance, loss of muscle mass, numbness and tingling/neuropathy, pain, emotional stress, and more. Our customized plans focus on minimizing your symptoms, restoring your function, and improving your quality of life. Research has shown that exercise, lack of stress, and nutrition can have positive effects on your health and reduce the likelihood of recurrence or the development of other chronic conditions.
Yes, exercise is safe for cancer survivors. Our cancer exercise specialists monitor your health during workout sessions to identify possible complications and any need for medical intervention. For this reason, it is recommended that you begin your exercise program with our trained cancer exercise specialists to ensure your safety. Our prescription exercise program is tailored to your needs, abilities, and goals.
Our program is open to cancer survivors of all ages.
If you have any physical or emotional problems that you did not have prior to your cancer diagnosis, particularly if these symptoms interfere with your ability to function or affect your quality of life, you are a candidate for our program. In addition, the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship recently updated their definition of cancer survivor to include “impacted family members, friends, and caregivers.” At Karuna Precision Wellness Center, we recognize that both the patient and their loved ones experience changes in their mind, body, work, and relationships after cancer. Anyone affected by cancer is eligible to seek treatment at Karuna Precision Wellness Center.
