Overview

Brooklyn Herbert is a certified exercise physiologist who recently graduated from the University of Indianapolis. Brooklyn has been training individuals for 2 years and specializes in cancer rehabilitation. Along with training, Brooklyn has completed a research exercise study with the University of Indianapolis on Breast Cancer Survivors and Dragon Boat Racing during her master’s degree work. Karuna Precision Wellness Center provides individualized prescription exercise as part of the recovery from cancer treatment-related symptoms. Studies have demonstrated exercise to be an effective treatment for neuropathy, a common side effect of cancer treatment. Our trainer has been educated in exercise for cancer survivors and is ready to train each client based on their level of fitness. A typical session begins with cardiovascular exercise, followed by resistance training, balance activities, flexibility training, and stretching. Tools and equipment can be recommended for use at home to maximize the impact of your workout.

Through a virtual assessment or in-person assessment, an exercise prescription will be created based on your fitness level and ability. Clients work individually through virtual visits or in-person to reach goals.

Therapeutic Massage

Overview

With 10 years of experience in energy healing and bodywork, Natalie George has trained in many modalities to help clients on their journey to health and wholeness. In addition to Swedish massage, she offers diverse techniques such as Ortho-Bionomy, lymph drainage, Craniosacral therapy, and energy healing.

Natalie's unique skillset allows for massage sessions tailored to the needs of the individual client. Natalie can address your everyday aches and pains in addition to helping with chronic issues. Her BA in medical sociology helps her better understand the context for each person's medical history and the impact it has on their current physical challenges.

Massage promotes relaxation and boosts the body's production of endorphins which can help relieve stress, reduce pain levels and swelling, and loosen aching, tense muscles.

Massage also helps improve mood and quality of life. A diagnosis of cancer often increases anxiety, and depression. Anxiety over the possibility of recurrence is also common. Regular massage can reduce anxiety and help create a prolonged sense of well-being, improving a client's overall mood. This service is available at Karuna Precision Wellness Center at the Indianapolis Healthplex on Guion Road.
